With a career spanning 14 years, Lucas Sheppard’s journey has been fueled by a passion for property and a dedication to helping people navigate their real estate journeys. And today, he starts a new chapter on his own term, launching Sheppard & Co.

 

Reflecting on what continues to attract him to the industry, Lucas shares, “real estate is dynamic and ever-evolving. Before becoming a real estate agent, Lucas explored various trades, including building and car sales, but it wasn’t until he discovered real estate that he truly found his calling. His diverse background, combined with his experience in different markets, has provided him with a unique perspective and set of skills. “I first entered the real estate industry 14 years ago, spending 12 years in Mudgee and 2 years in Canada. All these years in sales have prepared me for this next step,” Lucas explains.

 

The decision to build his own business was driven by a long-standing ambition. “I’ve always had the ambition to either be a partner in a business or have ownership of one. The idea of building something from the ground up and having a direct impact on its success has always appealed to me,” Lucas shares. The journey from ambition to reality took time, with every step of his career building towards this goal.

 

Before branching out, Lucas experienced frustrations with the lack of control over the business’s direction and decisions. He often had innovative ideas and strategies that he couldn’t implement due to company limitations. “These frustrations ultimately fueled my desire to create an agency where I could bring my ideas to life and provide a more personalised and effective service to my clients,” he explains.
